هرچند رابطه اخلاق و اقتصاد از دیرباز تا دهههای اول قرن بیستم با هم نوعی همزیستی داشتند و از اوایل قرن بیستم بهویژه آهنگ جدایی اخلاق و اقتصاد بهتدریج نواخته شد و با مطرحشدن دیدگاههای لیونل رابینز در دهه سوم قرن بیستم، بحث جدایی آنها به صورت جدی دنبال شد، در عین حال مفاهیمی مانند اخلاق اقتصادی و... در ادبیات اقتصادی یافت نمیشد. این مقاله به روش استناد تاریخی در صدد است نشان دهد با ظهور انقلاب اسلامی در ایران در اواخر دهه هفتاد میلادی و دهه پنجاه شمسی بحث اقتصاد اسلامی البته متأثر از آثار و اندیشههای شهید صدر و شهید مطهری به صورت جدی مطرح شد که بهنوعی آغازگر احیای مجدد دغدغه اخلاقی در اقتصاد و به تبع آن مطالعات اخلاق اقتصادی بود.
